This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your data when you use the Kanji Point of Sale (POS) software. By using KanjiPos, you agree to the practices described below. Whether you store your data locally or choose to use our optional cloud backup, we are committed to maintaining your privacy and the security of your data.

2. What We Collect
We only collect the data necessary to provide core POS functionality and support.

We do not use third-party trackers, analytics scripts, or any hidden monitoring.

4. Cloud Backup (Optional Service)
You may opt into our cloud backup service at any time. If enabled, KanjiPos securely stores encrypted copies of your data to prevent loss due to hardware failure or system issues.

-SMS data to offer support

We do not share, sell, or rent your data to third parties for advertising or commercial purposes.

6. Local vs. Cloud Storage
Local Storage
-All data is stored directly on your POS device
-You are fully responsible for backup and protection if cloud backup is disabled

-In case of hardware loss or failure, your system can be restored from the cloud

Your choice can be changed any time via the "Terms & Cloud" tab in Settings.

10. SMS Messaging
KanjiPos includes an optional SMS feature that allows businesses to send text messages to customers for purposes such as updates, announcements, and support.

a. Consent & Usage
Businesses using this feature are responsible for obtaining proper consent from their customers before sending SMS messages. 

b. Opting Out
Customers who receive SMS messages through the KanjiPos support system can opt out at any time by replying "STOP" to any message. Once a "STOP" message is received, the system will block further messages to that phone number.

c. Message Rates
Standard messaging and data rates may apply depending on the recipient’s carrier and mobile plan.

11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in features, regulations, or how we handle your data. However, because of how our software updates are currently delivered, some users may not receive policy updates immediately within the application.

If you are not using the latest version of the software, your copy may not display the most recent Privacy Policy. Regardless of software version, the most up-to-date policy will always be available on our website.

We encourage all users to review the most current version of the policy regularly and to contact us if they have any questions or concerns.
